Abstract

Advancements in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems have revolutionized healthcare management by enhancing data accessibility and patient care efficiency. However, the increased digitalization of health information raises significant concerns regarding data privacy and security. This study aims to analyze the latest developments in EHR systems with a focus on advanced data protection measures, including encryption, blockchain technology, and access control mechanisms. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing case studies and expert interviews to explore the effectiveness of these security solutions. The findings indicate that implementing multilayered security protocols significantly reduces the risk of data breaches and unauthorized access. Additionally, the integration of blockchain technology enhances data integrity and patient trust. These advancements not only safeguard sensitive health information but also promote regulatory compliance and interoperability among healthcare systems. The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by highlighting best practices for EHR security management, offering valuable insights for healthcare providers and policymakers. Further research is recommended to explore emerging technologies in data privacy for more robust EHR systems.
